Frequently Asked Questions.
Psychotherapy is a process that helps individuals explore and understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. It offers a safe and supportive space to address mental health concerns, such as anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and more. Various approaches, such as behavioural therapy, psychodynamic therapy, person-centered therapy, internal family systems, and somatic therapy, can be used to tailor the treatment to your unique needs.
The most important part of therapy is the relationship between you and your therapist. A strong, trusting connection allows you to feel safe, understood, and supported. This therapeutic bond creates the foundation for healing, enabling you to explore difficult feelings and make meaningful changes in your life.
There’s no set number of sessions that will work for everyone—it depends on the nature of what you’re experiencing and whether you’re seeking short-term support or looking to work through things more deeply over time. We can discuss your needs in the first session and determine what feels right for you. Throughout our work together, we’ll regularly check in on your progress and adjust our approach based on your therapy goals to ensure you’re getting the support you need.
Yes, therapy is completely confidential, with a few exceptions due to legal or ethical responsibilities. Your personal information is protected and handled according to GDPR regulations.
In rare situations, confidentiality may need to be broken—for example, if there’s a risk of harm to yourself or others, or in cases involving child protection laws. These exceptions will be thoroughly discussed in our first session and detailed in the therapy contract, so you’re fully informed.
Therapy sessions are typically held once a week. Consistency is important because it helps build a strong therapeutic relationship and allows us to explore your concerns more effectively. Regular sessions create momentum, helping you gain a deeper understanding of your experiences and work towards your goals.
That said, we can also explore different schedules based on your needs. Some clients may find that meeting every two weeks works for them, especially as they progress in therapy. We’ll discuss what feels most supportive for you.
The standard fee for individual sessions is €80, Couples and Relationship Therapy is €120. However, we hold a strong belief in social justice and equity, which means we are committed to ensuring that therapy is accessible to everyone. To support this, we offer a sliding scale for those facing financial difficulties. If cost is a concern, please feel free to reach out, and we can work together to find a fee that suits your situation. Our aim is to provide support that is both compassionate and accessible, regardless of your financial circumstances.
